Apple Music Event: Full coverage

Steve Jobs takes stage

Apple’s annual event was full of announcements and less of surprises as many speculations were right. During the 90 minute presentation from Steve Jobs he announced a lot of new offerings from Apple for almost all the devices leaving the MAC. Here is a preview (the full coverage follows on):

1. iOS 4.1 to be released today.

2. iOS 4.2 will be released in November with new features like Airplay, wireless printing etc.

3. Multitasking, make folders and print wirelessly from a menu on iPad. All the content for iPhones will be available on iPad as iOS 4.2 arrives as a free update later this year.

4. All the iPods (Shuffle, Nano and iPod Touch) are getting new designs and features.

5. iPod shuffle: a square form, a clip, speakable playlists like last model, Genius mixes, and VoiceOver to tell you what song or artist you’re listening to, 15 hours of battery. will be available in five colors: blue, pink, green, orange. Price is $49 for 2GB.

6. iPod Nano 6G: no click wheel (as speculated), multitouch and a tiny square screen, a clip like shuffle, FM radio, NikePlus, pedometer, and 29 languages, 24 hour battery life, the Nano 6G comes in seven colors, including a Product Red version. $149 for 8GB, $179 for 16GB.

7. iPod Touch: the A4 chip, 3 axis gyro, iOS 4.1 with GameCenter, and front-facing camera with FaceTime, HD video Recording on rear camera, 40 hours of music playback, 8Gb for $129, 32GB for $229, and 64Gb for $399.

8. iTunes: New Logo for iTunes (check for the images in the link below), Twitter and Facebook kind integration of social networking feature “Ping”, iTunes 10 ready for download from today.

9. Apple TV: small, black, palm sized, power supply bulit in, one HDMI connector and Ethernet, and WiFi, own remote, all HD content, and all are rental now, no purchasing, YouTube, FlickR, MobileMe, priced at $99, new remote.

10. Streaming from iOS devices to the Apple TV with just a touch on a button.
